Mantomata beach is a really unique, beautiful beach in Faliraki! It is almost hidden between Kathara beach and Anthony Quinn bay and has its own unique story.
This beautiful beach, when the tourism wave rushed in Faliraki, due to its natural shape as well as its coveted location, became a favorite spot for lovers of nudism. During the first period of the arrival of nudists in Faliraki, around the 60’s and 70’s, there was a lot of frustration among the villagers, in moral terms, as it was unheard of, at a time when girls’ dresses were strictly ankle length, for people to bathe nude in a public beach.
Crystal clear waters of Faliraki
After the State intervened by passing strict regulations for access to the beach, the issue was resolved and nudists could enjoy rightfully and undisturbed the beautiful beach. As the nudist movement grew in popularity, the area became more popular too, as it is one of the most beautiful spots in Rhodes and it was the only official nudist spot on the island. If you are a nudism fan, you will definitely have heard of it and you might even be reading these lines lying on its golden sand!
The nudists beach (Madomata) protects your privacy. Boats are not allowed in the bay and the entrance to the beach by non-nudists is forbidden. There are sunbeds and umbrellas for € 5 per person. The traditional restaurant located nearby offers local flavors and a wide selection of snacks that will make your visit unforgettable.
